The Malta Society of Arts (MSA) has just launched a ‘Call for Artists’ inviting artists and curators to send in applications expressing their interest in holding visual arts exhibitions at the magnificent Palazzo de la Salle, Valletta during 2022.

Over recent years, the MSA has expertly converted Palazzo de la Salle with the utmost respect for its historical character, while adapting it to excellently fit the needs of modern artistic and cultural activities. The four Art Galleries in particular have hosted some of Malta’s top artists in recent years, including Harry Alden, Gianni Bonnici, Richard Saliba, Anna Galea, James Vella Clark, Alex Dalli, Karen Caruana, Kenneth Zammit Tabona, Charles ‘City’ Gatt and Gabriel Buttigieg, among many others.

Applicants are to submit applications, duly filled, along with all the required documents related to the planned exhibition of works. Application forms and guidelines may be downloaded from www.artsmalta.org/download_other under ‘Application Form for Exhibitions’ and ‘Exhibition Applications Guidelines’ respectively. However applicants are encouraged to visit the Art Galleries of Palazzo de La Salle and discuss any queries with the staff before submitting their applications. These visits will be held according to the current Covid-19 safety measures being applied by the MSA.

All applications will be processed by the MSA’s Visual Arts Advisory Board, according to specific artistic and logistical criteria. The MSA will notify the outcome to the artists and curators in February 2022.

Applications are to be submitted by hand or by post to Palazzo de La Salle, 219, Republic Street, Valletta. All applications should arrive by not later than Monday 14 December 2020.
